New Nook coming soon...
Retails for $249. Tuesday is the big announcement - Dh said it's coming out around the holidays. Just read about it online.

I don't know - color isn't worth 249 to me. I'm happy with Nukka as she is.

Color seems silly to me. The books I read are all in black and white...unless you plan on uploading picture books I dont see the reason for the expense.

It wouldn't be worth it to me right now, but I can think of a few scenarios where it *might* be worth it to me if I needed it.
1 - If they are going to offer more childrens books (which would be fantastic) color would be awesome. I'd love to be able to bring a bunch of my kids fave books when we are traveling just on the Nook.
2 - If you subscribe to periodicals on the Nook. I only get the NYT Book Review so color makes no difference, but maybe some of the other periodicals would be better in color. I can't remember what ones they offer, I seem to remember they were mainly text heavy but maybe they will be offering more with photos.
3 - If it also allows for college texts to be read on it - the current Nook doesn't support text books or at least NookStudy doesn't work on the Nook - it probably would have been worth it to me in college so I wasn't dragging around those huge books.

They also announced that Walmart will be carrying the Nook.
I hope this means more different, reasonably priced accessories.

$249. seems high for my blood right now.
Plus what would I do with the one I have?? I love her.
I saw on the Digital Doorway that they have kids books.
I think Cnet should have a review soon.

The battery life is only 8 hours and it's just like an Ipad. Too many features for me. I need to be less connected.

If it were color e-ink I'd really consider it for Nook kids, but I don't want a backlit device. Oh well, maybe next generation.
