Dust allergy?

I've always been a little sensitive to dust. Yesterday I was using compressed air to dust in the crevices in my home office--monitors, computer vents, etc. I kicked up a LOT of dust. When I'm on the computer (like now) I feel completely affected by it...tickle in throat, little bit of a wheeze, generally irritated when I breathe. What can I take over the counter? An antihistamine? Is there anything that won't make me drowsy during the day?

Re: Dust allergy?

I am severly allergic to dust mites and on prescription for my allergies. I do know that benadryl and other OTC meds make non drowsy versions.

Re: Dust allergy?

Something like Claritin could work. I use Benadryl when the allergies are really bad because it is what seems to work the best but it makes me so tired.

Re: Dust allergy?

Relief! I picked up some Sudafed PE and it did the trick. It's got the chlorphenamirine for allergies and the phenylblahblahblah in it for decongesting. It didn't make me drowsy at all. The only problem is that to keep the relief, I have to take one every 4 hours.
I might try the claritin with decongestant, b/c it's 12 hours.
Thanks ladies!
