binky issues
I know I should have done this looong ago but my son is now 3 and still loves his binky! I know most would probably say cold turkey but any suggestions?? I think I rely on it so much too that its hard for me to take it away but I really need it to go!!! Help. OH and also how to get them off the bottle. He drinks from a big boy cup but still likes his bottle. I didnt know these things would be so hard!!

Re: binky issues
This is what my cousin did with both of her kids to get them to give up the binkies, and it's the perfect time of year to try it! She told them that on Christmas Eve, Santa wanted them to hang all of their binkies on the tree so he could take them and give them to little babies who needed them. He would also leave a special gift to say thank you. This worked like a charm on both of them! They liked feeling like they were helping little babies and doing what Santa wanted. Worth a shot!

Re: binky issues
Cold Turkey!!!!! At 3 they gotta go which you know obviously! If this helps I saw a Supernanny where the child had the same thing going on with the binky at 3. Nanny sat down and explained that he's a big boy now and they need to send his binkies on to other babies who need them So they sat down and put them ALL in an envelope (make sure you get ALL of them they are notorious for hiding one or two around the house!), they addressed it to the BINKY FAIRY and put it in their mailbox overnight. The next morning they checked the mail and there was an envelope FROM the binky fairy with a little toy for him; she even splashed some glitter on the mailbox to make it more real It would be worth a shot, I think at 3 they'll get it!

Re: binky issues
Literally just got rid of binky this weekend. My DS is 3 and when we went to dentist was told had an open bite/cross bite, probably due from binky (he only got it at nite from about 16 mos on till this weekend so not all the time)
So on wednesday the dentist told my son no more binky. We went home and we prepped him for Friday, we had to send it to a new baby. So on Friday nite before bed I asked for them and that tomorrow we would mail them to the baby with a new baby toy. He reluctantly gave it to me but once it was out of his bed there was never an issue. He asked the next day if I mailed it and I said yes! He seemed happy to help another baby!!
So don't be scared, I didnt think it would be that easy. I probably could have tackled it earlier but "I" wasb't prepared not my DS.
Good luck!!!!!!
