6 yr old Sports Birthday Party
My son eally wants a sports birthday. Any location ideas?
I already called Sportsplex in Bellmore (where I am located so prefer to stay within20-30 mins or so of that area) but looking for others...esp if they have something for younger guests to do at the same time..being I have a 3yr old son as do a few of my close friends who older child will be invited. Sportsplex didn't seem to have that all.

Sporttime does parties and they have a bunch of locations. Bethpage is a multisport location. I think Massapequa is only tennis.
Maybe Carefree Racquet in Merrick does parties? They have tennis and basketball courts. Andy is going to start tennis lessons there in the spring.
Maybe the Freeport Rec Center?
ETA: Island Garden Basketball in West Hempstead does basketball parties.
I know Soccertots is at Long Island Sports Complex in Freeport (by the Meadowbrook) and they have facilities for a bunch of sports. We've never been there, maybe they do parties?Link to their party info, sounds fun

We've been to a party at Sportsplex I think - it's almost near Jerusalem? Is that the one? - if so, I didn't care for it at all. I've just seen parties done much much better. And the food was very poorly handled on top of that. It just seemed like one of those places that didn't have their act together for a nice party. KWIM? And no doubt, it's not inexpensive either. DS was invited to a party at Primetime Sports in Copiague. It's an upcoming party so I cannot vouch for the place at all but it's work looking into since it seems to suit your location and theme needs. HTH

Long Island Sports Complex in Freeport does parties, too, although I've never been to one.

Elizabeth - thanks for the heads up on Sportsplex. Kevin has taken classes there and they were fine but from my phone conversation I didn't get a great feel for the party...I only like that it is close to home...yes - it is in Bellmore down Newbridge road...os probably 10 minutes or so from my home.

Were you looking for any sports in particular?
He is sport obsessed lately so really most would work but I am thinkng maybe indoor basketball and soccer. Those seem to be his favorites of late.

This might be too far away for you, but we had my 5 year old's party at W.E.S.T. in Huntington Station. The kids had a blast. He was allowed to pick three or four different sports to play. He chose soccer, dodge ball, running bases, the batting cage and tug-of-war. It was a lot of fun.

I was going to suggest this as well. M has been to a party here and loved it (DH did too!)
