New to Board - Commuting from LI to Queens
Hi everyone,
We are planning on starting our house search soon and we currently live in the five towns. I'm willing to look further out in Nassau but both me and my dh work in Queens so we need a town with a reasonable commute.
Does anyone drive to Queens for work? Or do you have any suggestions for towns that won't have us driving an hour plus each way to work? Thanks!

what about one of the LI towns near queens? I have a lot of family that live in Lynbrook and they love it there.

Re: New to Board - Commuting from LI to Queens
We live in Franklin Square and i used to work in college point and i can honestly tell you the only time it took me 20 min to get to work is in the summer time or on holidays when schools are closed lol. Coming home always took apprx 40-45 min. The cross island parkway really stinks lol.

Re: New to Board - Commuting from LI to Queens
I commute from Bellmore to Queens Village. It typically takes me about 35-40 minutes with traffic to get to work, and up to an hour if it's bad. I can make it in 25 minutes without traffic. Granted, Queens Village is just over the border from Nassau, so depending on where you work, it could be much longer (e.g., if you're commuting to LIC or Astoria).
