Ya know
Last week when the Mets were beating the Pirates in the bottom of the 5th last week and they delayed the game for rain, I was yelling
"call the game, rain it out, mets win, official game"
of course when the shoe was on the other foot last night, i was chirping a different tune 
how do you guys feel about the rain out rule that it counts as an official game after a certain amt of innings?

They should have never played the game in the first place. Dumb Dumb Dumb. Teams in cities all around them were rained out.

I don't like the rule, especially when some of the games that are called are so close. It seems like a cheap win. I think if they have a rain rule, a game shouldn't be official until at least the 7th inning. IMO, playing 1/2 a game is not enough to count as a win.

I was doing the same thing Don...LOL
But honestly and I'm not saying this just cuz the Mets lost last night but it really is a stupid rule and a cheap win. The game should not count at all as a win...

its a dumb rule. i think once the tarp is on the field, the game should be called. b/c if it rained once, odds are its going to rain again.

Normally they are pretty good at predicting when the rain will end/start... etc.
But that game was pure stupidity. HUGE storm passing by... but they continued to start the game anyways. Dumb.

I actually love the rule. I don't really have a valid reason...it just makes me chuckle.
Baseball in general has other rules that make me chuckle too...like the fact that you can't turn on the lights until the top of an inning.
