Anyone have a 2nd sac-a Q

Early on, I had spotting and the such. Was told that one source of the bleeding could be a 2nd sac. Either a baby never developed or it stopped. Either way, we just had our 12 week appt and the dr who did the sono asked us if our regular ob mentioned a twin. We said yes and she went on with things.

My question is this. How long did it take for the 2nd sac to disappear? It looked smaller on the screen but it was still there.

With my first pregnancy, the 2nd sac was still visible at my 12 week sono. My next one was at 18 weeks and it was no longer there.
