Dr San Roman, Port Jefferson
Hi All, I'm a new poster here, however I have read so much, and have LEARNED so much from you ladies! I just made an appointment with Dr San Roman in Port Jefferson because I'm not completely happy with my current obgyn, and plan on coming off the pill next month. Is there usually a long wait in his office? Is the staff friendly? How's his bedside manor? Any advise? Suggestions? TIA

Re: Dr San Roman, Port Jefferson
I've been going to Suffolk OB/GYN for 10 years. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the practice. The only experience I have had with Dr. San Roman was after I delivered my DD.......he checked on my in the hospital. I really didn't care for him. He didn't have much bedside manner and was cranky. The opposite of his brother at RSONY who I loved as my RE.
My absolute FAVORITE is Dr. John Petraco. He's absolutely incredible. He's warm and friendly, never rushes you, answers all your questions, etc. He is amazing. He delivered my DD and he was who I saw about 90% of the time while I was pregnant. LOVE him!! Other good male doctors in the practice are Dr. Strittmatter and Dr. Paul Lograno. If you prefer a female than Dr. Mindy Shaffran is AWESOME but I'm not sure that she does the OB end of it anymore, just GYN. I am very happy at that practice.

I met him right after DD was born and I heard he is the best. All the doctors at that practice are great.

Re: Dr San Roman, Port Jefferson
yes, Dr. Gustavo San Roman is the same one in Port Jeff Station. He is my OB/GYN and I absolutely LOVE him! I personally think he has a great bedside manner. the only thing is that there usually is a long wait in the waiting room but I think he is so worth it, if I need him for 45 minutes, he will spend it with me, so I have to appreciate that he may be doing the same with other patients.
ETA: sorry forgot to add that yes, his staff is very friendly and I always feel very comfortable dealing with them.

Suffolk OBGYN? I am wondering if you saw their other brother Gerardo...I think he practices at Suffolk OB/GYN.

Re: Dr San Roman, Port Jefferson
This is totally random but I was a hairstylist for 10 years and for 7 of those years I worked in a salon in PJ. I used to cut all 3 of Dr. San Romans daughters hair. All 3 girls were so sweet and so was their mom! I only met him a handful of times but he seemed really nice also.
I know, totally random....carry on

Re: Dr San Roman, Port Jefferson
yes, I remember my first consult with him sitting in his office and seeing a picture of a bunch of kids and thought it was a picture of some of his kids with cousins, etc. ( like I had done w/my cousins so many times) and I even asked him if some were nieces and nephews - nope! they were all his!

Re: Dr San Roman, Port Jefferson
I've been seeing Dr. Gus San Roman for 16 years. He delivered my DD. I personally think he has a great bedside manner. Michelle the NP there is great , as are all the nurses. Some of the office staff..well, I think they can be a little snotty, but overall it's not too bad.
