New Runner
I wanted to begin jogging/running but I was just wondering if anyone has any tips/advice for a beginner runner. For example should I start out at a short distance, how many days a week..TIA!

You can also do a search on LIF for it.

I didn't do the C25k however I did hear its good.
I felt more comfortable doing my own thing. I'd run/walk for a mile. Then I increased it gradually (mile and a half, 2 miles, etc). I increased half a mile to a mile each week. I pretty much just listened to my body if I needed walk breaks or if I felt I was doing too much too soon.
