Can we discuss holiday gifts for 5 and 6 year olds...

I am completely clueless what to get my kids. They both have late November birthdays so it makes it a touch more difficult.

I got them both Nintendo DS for their birthdays and a game. However, I am finding its a bit too much for them but I spoke to the girl at Game Stop and they have some games that are for their age group that I can get. They have all of 2 to choose from....

Disney store - got them a bunch of clothes and pajamas.

I would like to get some more stuff but I'm literally at a loss. I keep walking through stores and I just come up empty handed for them.

Any ideas/suggestions would be GREAT!!!!

Oh good lord - Ava has half of that stuff Thanks for the list - I do appreciate it.

I'm finding this age rather difficult to buy for. I feel like my kids have so much stuff already that I don't want to overdo it.

I would love to get some more art stuff but it seems to end up on their walls, my walls.....

I wanted to get them bikes but I thought it would be torture. Here are bikes but you can't ride them b/c it too cold out.

Any reviews on the v-reader? It looked cute and age appropriate.

the papsan chari was a big hit at that age for our DD.

The bike is always a good idea because there are some days when it's warmer than others.

My eldest DD is a nov bday also so i do get her some gift cards so when the summer comes around we go out to the store with "her money" so she can buy some summer stuff that she wants. Since she gets the bulk of her gifts in nov and dec.

I got my nephew Mario Kart for the DS. Also Lego Star Wars, but that does have hitting/"killing"

I have seen Phineas and Ferb at the Greenlawn gamestop (I didn't look too much since we don't have one and I didn't want DS getting any ideas but it looked like they have a ton)


DS is getting a green machine this year, plus he's into Legos - so he has a few of those sets on his list. He's also getting Super Mario Galaxy 2 for the Wii

#2 is still into cars, so that's the main focus of his list


MMy sister is getting them Kung Zhu pets. Not sure how it will go over, but it's another idea for boys.

DS loves games like sorry, Operation, Who woke Hulk, mouse trap. This year he is getting battleship and a few others.

Im getting my neice the American Girl Doll, she is 6.

I totally understand about the late birthday. My SS birthday is end of October and we never have a clue of what to get him for christmas because he gets everything for his birthday.

It even harder this year cause he is 13.

Oh RIGHT there with you Lori!!! DS (5 in October) got a DS for his bday - so got him a few games, a few DVD's (toy story, how to train your dragon, monsters inc) and a few other things... Picked up these Buzz Lightyear wings at target last week - they seem pretty cool and ds is VERY into SUPERHERO stuff..

He is getting a BIKE - he needs one (has a 12" baby bike) and he will use it when it is warmer.

DS is VERY VERY musical - dances/sings to everything so my brother is getting him that Paper Jamz guitar/drum thing...

I am also buying for our 1yo dd that isn't yet into a lot of things but her birthday is RIGHT after xmas so trying to buy ahead for the year to come - that is HARD - lets' just say I'll be doing a lot of shopping for her mid-year when she is more into specific things...

My dd is only 4.5 but I got her squinkies, zoobles, pretend school set from target, giggle and walk doll, and a crappy Jonas Brothers digital camera for $12 at Kmart. Oh and 2 cds. This year she is finally getting a twin bed because she is still in her toddler bed.

American Girl Doll clothes and accessories are big sellers as are all sorts of nail kits- I have one that's 7 different mini nailpolishes with stickers, nail file, etc.

Another kit is filled w/ clip-on hair extensions & colored hair mascara- they sell really well.

What about the giant rapunzel doll? It's at Target. Did she see Tangled? BJ's has the soft cover chapter book as well.
