Online Job applications
I've had it with online job applications! Grrr. I'm looking to work part time since having DS #2, and it takes HOURS to fill out these online job applications.
-upload your resume, -now paste it in plain text -now re-write everything that's on your resume into our website questionnaire -now fill out a questionnaire based on your history -now take this pre-employment test so we can find out how smart you are before you are actually our employee
It goes ON and ON and ON!
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Re: Online Job applications
i laugh because for Kmart I was sitting there for about a hour and then finally stopped filling out the stupid questionnaire. I mean seriously - this is for some extra cash, i am a college graduate, my main job is working for a college i don't need to answer seven different times "would you steal if you saw others stealing" b/s

Re: Online Job applications
I tried to send a resume via Careerbuilder the other day and got so fed up that I just mailed it out the good old fashioned way.
I recently did a couple online applications in retail for DH and that was about 2 hours of my life I will never get back over nonsense with those stupid surveys.
Both places called him though......just don't have the schedule he needs.

Re: Online Job applications
It sure is a joke! Someone I know applied for a job at Petsmart. The process was about an hour long. They asked him 75 questions. Within those questions, half of them were asking the SAME thing just worded in a different way. All this for a $8 per hour job? Seriously?! ENOUGH!!!

Re: Online Job applications
I totally agree with you - it is ridiculous. I'd rather do it the old fashioned way (resume & cover letter in an envelope) any day of the week.
I had no faith in the online app system at all... but surprisingly got my current job that way. I was shocked but it kinda restored my faith in the system.
