newbie....Dr. Azim?
Hello everyone! This is my fisrt time on here, weve been trying to conceive for almost a yr now, well been off the pill since January and nothing, so last night was out first consult for infertility, we met with Dr. Amr Azim, in Lake Success, he is apart of the dr. terrani group, he seemed ok, i had a sono and the tech made me very nervous asking if anyone has seen my sonos lately, I had one last month and they saw nothing wrong. She saw a cyst, and not so many eggs, but I did supposedly just ovualte, so could that be a reason why they didnt see eggs? Then we meet with doctor and then he did another sono, he wasnt convinced of the cyst, and indeed it was but was very reassuring that it was nothing to worry about, so our next step is when I get my peiod do day 3 blood, and then the tube test. Dr. Azim said if the test comes back ok just to go back to trying again but I dont know how much more I can take of this, so our other option is to go straight in to IUI......please any thoughts and if anyone had heard of things on Dr. Azim Thx

Re: newbie....Dr. Azim?
I never heard of that doctor, but it sounds like pretty standard protocol so far. They checked your blood too, right? I had like 14 vials taken from me at my first appointment. They do a sono to see how things look, and make you an appointment for an HSG (the "tube test" you mentioned). That has to be done around CD 8. They won't even bother giving you meds or an IUI until that comes back clear, because with 2 blocked tubes (rare), you're wasting your time as it would be impossible to get pg. Your DH should also be getting his... um, contribution... checked. That might explain why you have been trying for 10 months with no success. Half of all fertility problems are either male issues or a combo of male/female issues.
So until all that is done, your RE wants you to go home and keep trying on your own. Once you know the full story, you'll decide what course you need to take. Good luck!
OH, WAIT! I just checked up on Dr. Azim - I didn't realize he's an OB-GYN and not an RE. You've been trying for 10/11 months and haven't gotten pg? Forget this guy; go to an RE. It seems like you're uneasy about him and I think this is the reason. You should see a fertility specialist, not him, if you're having issues.

Re: newbie....Dr. Azim?
I am not familiar with Dr. Azim; however, do go in for your day 3 sono as you plan to do. If you don't mind me asking what age are you and dh? It seems like the RE is not alarmed that there is an immediate / identifiable cause. But, further testing will determine this, including your HSG. HAs your husband gotten a semen analysis. If you can do as much testing now it may save you time later on. (Instead of trying and BD blindly and there turns out to be an underlying issue.) With regards to going forward with IUI, that would honestly be a decision you and DH need to discuss, especially after you take into consideration the results of further testing. All the best. The ladies on this board are always willing to listen. So welcome and all the best with your journey.

Re: newbie....Dr. Azim?
Welcome
I second DavaDay and SweatPea.
I had some testing done with my GYN and she put me on clomid for three months, but it didn't work. We were TTC for 1 year and GYN referred me to Dr. Rosenfeld at the Center of Human Reproduction at North Shore University Hospital.
After all the testing it was determined that we have uexplanied infertility. We just started our first IUI cycle.
Good luck!

Thanks Ladies, yes Dh was tested and hes normal and good. Dr. Azim works in a obgyn clinic, but hes infertility specialist, is that different from RE?? I got sonos and like 20 viles of blood, I think im gonna stay with him until the tube test, and then mayeb see where else we can go. I am 29 and DH just turned 31, its just so fristrating!! As of now we decided if after tube test we will try one moth and if doenst work, well do IUI
