What is my other options? She only weighs 37 pounds. Its a graco. Is there another brand that is bigger? I pulled out all of the length on the straps.

Re: 5 pt harness too tight...

we have the graco nautilus - it fits up to 65 lbs in a 5 pt harness. a lot of the newer seats have 65 lb 5 pt harness's.

the nautilus iis awesome though. its a 3in 1. so when you no longer need a 5 pt..you can switcj it to a backed booster, and then a backless booster. it the last seat she will ever need.

The Nautilis right? It's too tight to snap in the bottom piece without pinching them? I have the same problem. I make sure she is sitting all the way back.

Re: 5 pt harness too tight...

Call up graco, we had a problem with one of the car seat straps and they sent up a strap extender that worked wonders and we didnt have to get a new car seat. It's worth a try.

Re: 5 pt harness too tight...

oh - I am having the same issue. My 3 yr old is barely fitting esp now that I put on his puffy winter jacket. I have to make sure I push him all the way back in the seat and prop him up exactly the right way to close the bottom part of the harness. He is also around 37-38lbs and 39-40in and he is complaining it is too tight.

My weight limit is 40lbs but was hoping to get to 4 before we hit that and then move him to a booster (that is what I did with my older and he was similarly sized - although he was in the costco 5 pt harness booster at this age since I needed the convertible for my younger son). I never thought to call my mfg...I may try that. I have the Costco/Eddie Bauer convertible car seat.

If it's too tight you really should just get a new 5 point harness booster instead of getting the extender. Chances are she is almost right at the height limit for the seat also.

DS is 50 pounds in a Britax Marathon and it's getting to the end of the rope, but there is still a little bit more left.

most of the 40lb 5 pt harness seats do have a height limit of 40 inches so shes just about there.
