Is anyone else leaving their furbaby home on Christmas?
DH and I are going back to NY for the holiday and it sickens me that we are leaving our 3 dogs home. I wish we could take them but can't afford the $1,200.00 plane ticket. I know they will be in good hands but, I still feel terrible! It makes me not want to go back home...

All of our family is local. Riker will be coming with us. :o) I am sure your babies will be fine. They don't understand Christmas.

Re: Is anyone else leaving their furbaby home on Christmas?
Unfortunately, yes.
We brought them to my sister's house last weekend, which is where Christmas will be. Her Lab is relentless and would not stop humping my poor Brinkley. For hours. Even with consistent, proper correction.
He would just ruin it for everyone, so now we have to leave the dogs home.

Yes, we are. But we're not traveling far- just 20 minutes away. They'll both have pigs ears and rawhide bones to keep them occupied until I can bring home left overs though.

Re: Is anyone else leaving their furbaby home on Christmas?
we are not going very far, when we go to IL's we leave our dog home, then we will be picking him up and bringing him to my moms with us.
My IL's house isn't very dog friendly and I can't trust our dog there and our dog is very comfortable at my moms-he goes there all the time

All of our plans are local, but she will be left home for much of it, unfortunately. We will have the ability to stop home though as needed, and she'll come to the later part of Christmas day at my parents' house.

Re: Is anyone else leaving their furbaby home on Christmas?
After the ILs turned down our invite for Christmas she said we should just come there but that we can't bring Darwin so DH actually said forget it! I always feel guilty leaving him... although I'm sure he deosn't know the difference.

Re: Is anyone else leaving their furbaby home on Christmas?
We've got the same situation - going home for the holidays and can't take the dogs. I'll miss them, but we've done it before. We're very comfortable with the place they stay while we're gone, so that helps.
