Weekday birthday party...WWYD
I have just booked a birthday party for Noah for early January. He really wanted a party at Krispy Kreme, and it just looked like fun! So I have booked it, the only thing is the parties are only held Monday through Thursday, so I have booked it for 4.30 pm on a Tuesday.
Now most of the kids I have invited have parents who either are SAHM or they just aren't working. There are one or two kids who I don't know, so I don't know their situation, and one other who I know Noah wants there, and is with a babysitter in the afternoon, so I can take him there and home.
Have I made a huge mistake for having a weekday party? I have discussed the time/place etc with lots of the other parents, and they say its fine...what do you think??? What if no one shows up!

Re: Weekday birthday party...WWYD
Weekday parties are often preferred by a lot of parents. Weekends are usually swamped, and if they aren't over-booked, my weekends are times that I want to spend with my family. I have no problem with weekday parties.

The only problem I have with weekday parties is that I don't have anyone who can watch the other for me, so we usually have to skip those parties.

I work PT and would have no problem with a weekday party. It seems to be more popular recently too.

I don't have a problem with them.. but I usually can't attend because of my work schedule. Now that Rob is home we actually decline fewer invitations though!

Ditto. Thats always my problem with weekday parties. But from what you said, most of the parents are ok with it. So dont worry.

It's fine IMO. I had my DS bday party last year at lunchtime on a Thursday. He went to school M-W-F last year. My older 2 were in school and it was fine, it was better since most of the guests were around DS's age (he was 4) and were classmates.

I'm a teacher and DH WAH, so we can usually get to these parties. but i would be crushed if it were really early and we couldn't make it b/c of work. The guilt can be pretty bad for WMs
