Foot hurting and cramping of toes
I woke up the other morning with the bottom of my foot killing me and it feels like my toes are constantly cramped. Kind of like when you wake up and they are cramped but go away. This is non-stop.
Wondered if anyone has ever had this, what it is, what I have to do for it and how long does it last.
Thanks.

Re: Foot hurting and cramping of toes
it could be related to your back. Do you have back pain?
I get cramps in my toes all the time, up through my foot into my calf and its always b/c of my lower back. I have terrible posture, carry around a 24lb tolddler, have slight scoliosis and arthritis in my spine, sit at a computer at work, and stopped doing pilates. my back is a disaster.
SO its almost always from my back when my toes cramp. and even though it uncramps, its still sore sometimes the rest of the day.

No, no back pain.

Re: Foot hurting and cramping of toes
OMG, I had this exact thing last night!!! My DH said it has something to do with my bad posture when I sit at work and being dehydrated (I am not drinking enough water lately). And I should get back to stretching and working out.
We shall see.

Go to a podiatrist. Could be something, could be nothing.
I have arthritis in my foot so I live with constant pain, swelling and the occasional cramping.

Could be that your muscles are dehydrated too. Make sure you're eating enough potassium too!

Re: Foot hurting and cramping of toes
Definitely go to a podiatrist. I could be a lot of things - I have problems with one foot for a long time and one of the problems sounds similar to yours, it was a pinched nerve.

Re: Foot hurting and cramping of toes
Could also be a B12 and/or potassium deficiency. It wouldn't hurt to have a vitamin panel run.
I have a severe B12 deficiency, and one of my earliest symptoms was intense cramping in my left foot and toes. My toes would cramp up and feel "frozen" in position. I didn't find out what it was until about a year later, a lot more symptoms, and some really crummy tests. But definitely get to a doctor! Good luck :)
