Don't get me wrong, when the guilt is pretty bad.. it takes longer to get over though. But most things I feel guilty about nowadays are that I let food go bad in the fridge, or I left something dirty in the sink (which DH hates!)

OOh if' its my own guiilt...well then I obsess about it until it makes me sick.
ETA I can't let it go, especially if I think it was horrible.
I got into a fight right before senior year of high school with my best friend Mary Beth, whenever I think of the things I said to her, I STILL get upset and make myself sick. Even though we stopped fighting and she forgave me...I have never been able to forgive myself.

Same here - wish I could put it aside but it CONSUMES me until I do something about it to make it right.
DH calls me a "guilt monger".

I am a person who feels Guilty when i know I am in the wrong and i will admit it when i am and if the person i apologize to forgives me thats great but if the person doesn't than its my lost because i will know than i lost a good friend. i am a person who does get a guilty conscience and i would feel so bad because i hurt that person.

I am the same way. Sometimes I feel sooo guilty for things I should not feel guilty about. Confessing and/or talking about it with somebody usually helps.
