Spinoff to Bed Transition-- Did anyone's DC sleep better??
Sash is not the best sleeper to begin with. Lately, she loves getting into beds, pulling up the covers and going "night night". I gave her a little pillow and blanket for her crib, and I don;t think it's making a difference-- but I figured it would be a slow transition to toddler bed, and ultimately a full sized bed. If we weren't thinking about a second child, I wouldn't really concern myself with the transition-- and I do probably have about a year before I would even maybe need her crib for someone else anyway...
Just curious to see more positive experiences-- since every post, BTDT moms say don't do it!!

I don't think I've ever posted anything but positive experiences with it. My son did an excellent job transitioning. Took maybe 2 weeks for him to stop getting out of bed and out of his room but once he was settled he did great. He has always been a good sleeper and I did worry about transitioning him from crib to bed (we never did toddler bed) but he did fine. He was definitely outgrowing the crib which was fine because we needed it for the baby. He took to the new space well and sleeps just as well as before.
I am all for it!

Re: Spinoff to Bed Transition-- Did anyone's DC sleep better??
This is where I am at too! DS is 2 1/2 and for the past month he has been expertly climbing out of his crib 3-10x a night. This all during the holiday stress. So now I am trying to decide if he should go into a toddler bed but why would I think that he would stay in the toddler bed????????
I just don't have it in me right now to transition him....I am a cranky beast from lack of sleep. I am thinking of putting up a crib tent to buy me some time.....
UGH...I can't think straight.

Re: Spinoff to Bed Transition-- Did anyone's DC sleep better??
We just transitioned our DS at 25 months into the toddler bed for no reason other than I thought he was ready last week. He has had no problem, he is actually sleeping later and taking his normal naps. I am hoping it stays this way, granted it has only been 5 days.
I do have to say at daycare he sleeps on a mat on the floor which I think has helped the situation.
If you decide to do it, good luck. I am hoping the positive trend continues.
