WWYD????
Backstory - my FIL is sick. He will be undergoing chemo and CANNOT get sick. His doctor is extremely adamant about this.
I have 2 kids - both in school. This time of year its germ central and of course, I work with kids as well so its just a triple whammy.
I honestly don't know how much time my FIL has left. I know the cancer has spread so I obviously want to spend as much time with him as we can but on the flipside we all need to stay healthy. We can be fine one day and be sick the next - its so hard!
Would I be out of line if I spoke to the teachers and asked if they were a bit more diligent in cleaning the supplies and such in the classrooms?
I just don't know how to handle this......

I don't think you're out of line to ask if you explain the reasons behind it. You can also ask them to notify you if anyone is sick in the classroom.
While it won't prevent germs being spread on the playground, it will give you a heads-up to plan.
Also you may want to push the handwashing talk with the kids. M is a thumbsucker so she catches everything.

Re: WWYD????
Short of spraying them with Lysol when they walk in I'm definitely big on the hand washing.
I know they're kids and its going to happen but anything I can do to at least maybe prevent something is a huge deal.
I'll definitely speak with the teachers as well as clients too. If anyone has been sick in the house I need to know that as well.
Thanks for the advice.

Re: WWYD????
Can your kids to keep their school supplies clean and away from others (Do they have their own or use community?)
give them purell also and time frames when to use it. Also baby wipes work for cleaning supplies.
The school might have a cleaning policy (Our doorknobs get cleaned at least 2x a day since swine flu)

Re: WWYD????
I would just let the school know the situation. Given the circumstances i think they should be receptive and do what they can to help.
