Re: Suggest a great historical/biographical book
America 1908: The Dawn of Flight, the Race to the Pole, the Invention of the Model T and the Making of a Modern Nation. It's by Jim Reisenberger and it's fabulous!
I never realized how pivotal 1908 was. That was the first year the ball dropped in Times Square. The book starts from NYE 1907 and goes to NYE 1908. It was fascinating reading about the differences between now and then culture wise. The book covers pretty much everything that was major news or scandal back then, including the murder trial of famed architect Stanford White (who's buried in my town coincidentally), the automobile race around the world from NY to Paris, the baseball playoffs etc. I couldn't put it down!

It's been out for a while, but have you read Devil in the White City? It's about a serial killer and the world's fair--it's an amazing read!

My favorite non-fiction is The Great Bridge: The Epic Story of the Building of the Brooklyn Bridge by David McCullough.
Love the time period and thought the whole thing was really fascinating!
