Not to be that mom, but I just have to brag a little
Sarah has been seeing a therapist for a little while now to deal with her severe anxiety and low self esteem. We've been seeing improvement at home, but she still gets overwhelmed and cries very easily at school and extra curricular activities.
Today at her Daisy meeting she got up BY HERSELF and sang a song to her entire troop. She has never done anything like that before, and she was so loud and clear and didn't get upset once. 
Thanks for listening, I'm just so excited and proud of her!

That is so awesome Cathy!! I am proud of her and I don't even know her personally :)
My DD is a Daisy and her leader and I just had a conversation last week about about how some of the shyer girls have come out of their shells. We had 2 very shy girls and they are doing really great with talking in the group.
Bravo Sarah It's always nice to hear when they are finding their way, the shyness and self esteem issues are very hard on the parents too bc you can't just make them less shy or confident but it sounds like you are doing the right things as a Mom to respect who she is and help her flourish. Sounds like 2 strong women in your family :)
