Is great wolf worth it for one night? Updated with another question!
I was looking to do Coco Key, but the reviews I'm reading online are horrible! no wonder it's half the price. so i would only be able to do 1 night, 2 days. DS is 15 months. worth it?
ETA...just found Sahara Sams in NJ. Any reviews on that?

I personally don't think it is. You can't check in until 4pm and you have to check out at 11am. Even though you can still use the park outside of those times, I just think the unpacking/packing up hassle for one night isn't worth it.

We went to Coco Keys (in CT) overnight and it was perfect.
I don't know about the bad reviews but DS was 16 months at the time and he loved it. The only part he didn't like at first was a big bucket that dumped water every 20 minutes. Once he got used to it he would run to get ready for it and laugh.

We haven't gone but I'd think it would be worth it.
We've done a half day trip to Sesame Place. I'd think spending 1.5 days at a water park and spending the night would be worth it. Sounds like a perfect amount of time to me.

Re: Is great wolf worth it for one night? Updated with another question!
Yes, it's worth it and we did it last November.
The check in is officially 4pm but you can use the waterpark at 1pm. The waterpark has a locker/changing area to change. And lockers for you personal belonging (but I believe you have to pay for those). Check out is 11am but you can still use the waterpark too that day. That's A LOT OF TIME in a waterpark.
We were able to check in at 1pm instead of 4pm that day but it's not a guarantee.

Re: Is great wolf worth it for one night? Updated with another question!
This is the 4th time we're going...and each time we've only gone for one night. This is how we work it and it's MORE than enough time.
**Travel in your bathing suit with clothes over them. Pack (separately) snacks, water shoes...whatever you need for the water park. Keep in a separate "pool bag".
* Try to check in around 11 am. The room is never ready, but they will give you your arm bands for park admission.
* Bring your "pool bag" and head to the water park. We have NEVER been stopped. Park opens early. You have your armband and have paid already...just waiting to check in.
* Stay at water park until about 5:30. Go back to front desk. Officially check into your room. Change clothes...head out to dinner (or go back to waterpark...whatever fits into your plan).
* Come back from dinner. If around 8:00...hang out in lobby and watch show, then hear bedtime story.
* I go with my older son to do MagiQuest while my DH takes my younger son to arcade.
* Bedtime
* In morning, out to breakfast (we LOVE Ham and Eggs in the Pan...restaurant down the road...so cute). Come back. Go to room...change into bathing suits. Repack "pool bag" and don't forget to also pack a change of clothes/ underwear....SEPARATELY...not in suitcase.
* Check out (by 11)
* Go to waterpark. Stay there all day. Leave around 5:00.
* Go to the large PRIVATE bathroom across from the gym (down the hall from the arcade, right before the Cubs Club). Change into your travel clothes.
* Go to arcade for about an hour.
* Go home
As you can see....there's MORE than enough time for the waterpark.
IMO...more than 1 night is overkill.

Re: Is great wolf worth it for one night? Updated with another question!
One of my best friends lives in southern nj and told me that Sahara Sam's was really ghetto. She told me I would hate it and not to go.
The website looks great though. I'm tempted to go there for a day trip against my friend's advice.

Both ways we were lucky with absolutely no traffic.
One way 2 hours and 10 minutes. The other way, 2.5 hour.

We did one night. You can do early check in. I think 11am. IF your room is not ready, they will hold your bags and you can change in the locker room. Our room was ready. You can use the facilities the whole day you check in and the whole day that you check out.

Re: Is great wolf worth it for one night? Updated with another question!
I have two friends that have gone and they said for younger babies (like ours ) that 2 days/1 night is perfect. I really like the outline posted above!
We booked for 1 night for after DS turns 1.
