Re: pre-preggo conseidered overweight

9 lbs at 18 weeks is really good.
regardless of what I eat or not I gain weight. I am 21 weeks and have gained almost 28lbs Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon i have a huge belly.
These little girls are taking over my body!!

Im trying no to stress the weight gain at all. I figure this is what the babies need and when they are out safe and sound, I will loose it and get back in shape

Everyone gains weight at different rates, so it's no use to compare yourself to other people! As long as your doctor is not concerned, you shouldn't be either. Why don't you bring it up at your next appointment to ease your mind?

Re: pre-preggo conseidered overweight

That weight gain does not sound like too much at all.

But everyone is different. When I got pregnant this time with the twins I asked my OB how much weight should I expect to gain given my current size and she told me.

You should do the same. Most of the time if a doctor is worried about it they will say something to you.

I wish I only gained 9 pounds!! I think that is great. I am at week 25 and gained about 15 pounds.

31 weeks and 10 pounds at my last appt... but that took hard work. I feel like all I do is eat anymore so I am sure it will be much more at my next appt. Chat Icon But they say overweight people are ok to gain up to 25 pounds so no worries!!!

I guess I could I say I was a bit overweight at the beginning of my pregnancy and at 29 weeks I've gained 18lbs...and my dr's not concerned. Ask your dr the next time you go what he'd like to see you stick to given your starting weight.

Re: pre-preggo conseidered overweight

According to my BMI I was also overweight pre-pregnancy, I'm also 18 weeks but I haven't gained any weight yet I've lost about 8lbs since I found out I was prego at 10 weeks.
The doctor said its ok. He doesn't expect me to gain much at all but that some women gain their weight in the beginning and then very little later and some gain it later on so I think 9lbs os good. HTH
