resume writer??
Can anyone recommend a REALLY solid and good resume writer? I've gotten ripped off before paying someone to do my resume and it was terrible. Looking for someone with experience with executive level resumes....

Re: resume writer??
This may be a shot in the dark but I read this in another message board and thought it was pretty slick advice:
Create a Craigslist account and post a fake job ad for the position you are interested in working in..then ask for resumes to be sent to an anonymous email...read those resumes and then copy aspects of them that impress you...

And people wonder why Craiglsist gets a bad rap? Just because you can do something does not make it right.

wow, this is seriously wrong on so many levels....fisst and foremost why would I want to copy someone else's resume? I want to stand out and have worked so hard the past 20 years to do so! I've worked my way up, WAY up and want it to be reflected in MY personal accomplishments....secondly, it is so wrong to do to people, why make people think they are applying for a real job...I'd really suggest whatever site or wherever you read that ,you stop visiting and possibly report it to the administrator, that is some really ,really BAD advice!

From what I recall, people weren't blindly copying and pasting resumes they looked at on Craigslist (remember there is also a section on there where people post "Jobs Wanted" and then their resumes for all to see)...They would just lift the language and formatting from some of their resumes and tailor them to their own. This is not that different from what Career Counselors at colleges/grad schools do to current students when revising resumes on formatting/presentation or descriptive language. I worked as a Career Advisor in college so am familiar with all the resume writing books/guides out there..
Secondly, as horrendous as this practice may be - people still do this. You or I may not agree with it, but anyone who is desperate to get an edge over a similarly situated candidate to land a job wouldn't see problems with forking over $25 to post a fake ad, and then read the incoming cover letters/resumes to get an idea of who "their competition' is...It is wrong, but this is reality.

Re: resume writer??
I can do it and I have experience. In my view, though, it is the cover letters that people mess up. People don't know how to write well and sell themselves appropriately.
FM me if you'd like.
