not so great update on my cousin....

turns out she almost died last night.

apparently she was loosing too much blood too fast and became anemic.

everything she was telling me she was experiencing sounded very normal. i even told her if she fills a pad in less than an hour to call her doctor. she was filling a pad in 1.5 to 2 hours.

she was asking me questions morning noon and night, the same questions over and over again.

then she started telling me she was dizzy and so i told her to call her doctor. she told me she passed out, i told her to call the doctor. she would reply with "do you really think i need to" I would say "i'm not you and i don't know exactly what you are experiencing but yes you should call if you feel it's not normal and for passing out". she would respond with "but i feel better now".

a part of me thought she was sort of just looking for comfort or something. mostly because everytime i told her to call her doctor she really didn't want to, yet she seemed concerned up until me saying call your doctor.

anyway she calls the dr on wed and tells them she's dizzy and she passed out and all that. the dr schedules her an appt for friday. ok.

last night her parents rushed her to the hospital. apparently she had at this point passed out 3 times and was looking ghostly. they took her in immediately. she needed a blood transfusion. they told her if she waited until today for that appt she would have been dead. she said her blood count was 13.1 and went down to 3.5.

crazy.
and another doctor no good. i feel like the dr should have seen her sooner if she knew she was dizzy and passing out. I only knew she passed out once and i was telling her to call the doctor.

That is terrible and it is a good thing she made it to the hospital.

Her doctor should have sent her to the ER if she said she was bleeding that close to 1 pad an hour on top of the feeling dizzy and actually passing out!! What kind of doctor doesn't send you to the ER when you are fainting during a miscarriage?

I hope she recovers soon.

This is definitely a not so great update but I am so glad to hear that she is alive. I'm so sorry that something so traumatic happened to her. I can't imagine how scary that must have been.
