Why even have a pet!!???

My neighbor (2 doors down) have a cat that they NEVER let in the house. He's been coming to my front door for the last week or so, ever since it's been really cold. I've been feeding him and, the other night when it was below 10 degress out, I let him in the house and let him warm up. But, he wanted to leave so I let him back out to go home. It kills me to see him living like this!

THEN, tonight I'm on my way home from dinner and I turn on my street to find the woman's husky standing in the street. I live on a fairly busy road so I stopped and the 2 young guys (early 20's) stopped to help me. We knocked on the door but the house was dark and no answer. After 10 minutes, 2 young guys came out saying they rent the apartment in the basement and the dog belongs to the landlady but she went upstate for the weekend and left the dog in the backyard!!!!! UMMMM, HELLO!!??? It's freezing out and there is 4 feet of snow on the ground!!! So the guys got the dog and brought him into the apartment.

Why even have a pet!!?? You won't let them in the house, you don't give them love...come on!!!! I'm so angry!!!

Call animal control & report her...she left her dog outside in freezing temps for a weekend! How the heck is it supposed to get water & food too?

ugh, some people are so disgusting. It's so good of you to look after her cat, maybe she figured you would do the same for the dog...still she's a dummy

not again!!!! There was a huge drama last week on FHF board about a dog tied to a tree in freezing cold!!! the lif'er called every darn agency in Nassau but ended up taking matters into her own hands and going to talk to the neighbor.

I can't frikking believe this is happening again.

I would call the humane society and hand the dog over to them. tell them the story. i'd even sign paperwork stating that I handed the dog in. animals need voices.

then i would collect the cat and do the same.

people like this should not have pets.

how do you go away and leave your dog in the yard all weekend? what kind of person are you?

ETA: then i'd leave a love note on her door. and file a police report.

Well I didn't get to catch the dog. The guys that live in the apartment in the basement (Which is probably not even legal) got him and took him in. But, I'm sure the cat will be back. I am living with my parents right now as I'm going through a divorce and I told my mom that I'm gonna call the SPCA or animal control the next time the cat comes to the door. The guys in the basement said they try to let him in too, but he pees in the house b/c he doesn't understand the whole litter box concept, being that he is an outdoor cat. And, the cat cries to go back out (as he did with us) so they let him back out. I am just so angry that people do this to animals!!!

You need to report this persn ASAP. Please do it. This is extreme animal cruelty. Please save that dog and cat.
