cord compression (long)
I went for my check up at Dr Kofinas' office on Thursday and the indomethacin obviously worked for now cause it got my cervix back to a 40! I was so happy, that was great news! maybe I wouldn't need a cerclage now. I am waiting for Dr Kofinas to be back from Greece to talk about it. We are getting real close to the limit for it.
Anyway just when I thought things were looking up, I come to find out that baby A has a slight cord compression and I am being sent to the hospital immediately. I was in such shock! Apparently he has his cord draped over his shoulders like a scarf and it was being compressed by his head!
I had already been in the hospital Tuesday for a preeclampsia workup and now I'm going back!
Well while I am there they decide it is a good idea to give me steroid shots for the babies lungs. I hope that was the right thing to do because of course I came home and googled it and found soooo many side effects I made myself sick! So discharged Thursday night finally and readmitted again Friday.
I am soooo worried again! I feel like everytime somthing is looking up another bombshell drops
Has anyone of you moms had stuff like this go on?

Re: cord compression (long)
Dont know much about the cord compression.
But I think the steroid shot was a great idea. It really helps the lung functions of babies born early. My twins were born at 35w3d and I didn't get the shot and I wish I had. They both had breathing issues at birth.
Lots os the moms on this board have gotten the steroid shot! Prayers for you and your little ones!

Re: cord compression (long)
At one point Dr. Kofinas told me to be aware of their movements bc the cord was laying around their neck. By the next visit the cord moved...hope that happens for you

Re: cord compression (long)
I am sorry you are going thru this but I feel getting the steroid shot was a good idea. I had the shot at 28 weeks and delivered at 36 weeks and the kids had no issues with breathing when they were born or any side effects to the shots....Try not to stress out you are in good hands with you Dr.
