Unemployed teachers please come in

Since there are so many of us, I thought this could be a "go to" thread for a few things. Please share:

1. Your certification area, so we can watch out for each other (and maybe the employed teachers can watch out for us, too)

2. Any good websites, career fairs, resume writers, or other resources that you come across that you are willing to share

3. Where you are willing to work

I'll answer

1. Secondary Social studies

2. nytimes.com, idealist.org, nais.org, olasjobs.org...I definitely feel like I am missing some, so please add

3. Anywhere on the island, 5 boroughs, or lower Westchester. I cannot relocate right now.

Great thread! It'll be nice to offer support to one another!

1. Childhood Education (1-6) and Early Childhood Education (B-2).

2. Dowling's website lists the job listings from the newspapers on Mon or Tues, olas, indeed, craigslist.

3. Anywhere on the Island, Queens and Brooklyn. DH and I are looking to relocate to Connecticut, so any info from there would be great if anyone has!

Dowling usually has a teacher fair around this time of year. You can go there and drop off your resumes or apply for them through their website and they will call you for an interview if they want too.

gotcha I just didn't want you to have to go and fill everything out and for it to already be gone. I know how hard and time consuming it is that these district put out there opening when really they are already filled

General Education and Special Education 1-6

I'd take anything (perm sub, leave, teacher, etc), but I need a position that offers health insurance.

I had to take a leave and I'm not sure if I'll be able to return to my previous position so I'll be looking to start May/June, Summer School, or something for Sept.

Queens, Nassau, Suffolk

I think everyone has already listed all the sites that post jobs/info...but in addition SD websites.
