Third Trimester Heartburn - Help!
Nothing seems to be helping. I've been taking Zantac. I stopped with tums because it didn't help at all and was making me nauseous. I don't know if I am eating too much or too little. I just constantly feel like I have acid and/or food in my throat. Gross, I know.
Any suggestions on how to relieve the heartburn?

Re: Third Trimester Heartburn - Help!
I was that way with DS too. It was BAD! First look at your diet Tomatos and tomato sauce, OJ and any citrus, chocolate, mint, caffeine all cause HB. So try to limit those items.
I drank alot of milk and ate ice cream alot during my first pregnancy...My OB said she could give me a script for stronger meds but I never wanted to do that so I suffered through it until DS was born and then it instantly went away!.
This time around I find the foods above cause it but also if I am hungry. Try eating smaller meals every 2-3 hours and see if that helps! \ GL!

Have you tried Mylanta...that used to work for me when I was pregnant with DS. Also, some chammomile tea...but sometimes it didn't do the trick.

My dr recommended Pepcid. I found a generic complete heartburn relief at Walgreens that works wonders.

The only thing that helped me is multiple bottles of pellegrino or selzer in a day. Worked like some wonder drug and I was on Protonix throughout my pregnancy

Re: Third Trimester Heartburn - Help!
I was talking to my sono tech at my 36 week growth scan today and she suggested baking soda dissolved in water and said it gets rid of it ASAP. She said on the Arm and Hammer box, she thinks it actually says what to do (if not I'm sure you can google it). I plan to try it out because mine is absolutely awful morning, noon, and night!

Re: Third Trimester Heartburn - Help!
I ended up on Nexium which helped a lot, but it was BAD until the end. I'm actually going to ask at my next appt to go on it again because I'm already having some reflux and it's bringing back memories!

Re: Third Trimester Heartburn - Help!
You just reminded me of how horrible my heartburn was! Every few days, I would treat myself to a pepcid ac or two...they do have sodium so I just drank more water...heartburn is the worst
