local!!!! My brothers from TX always call local to order for my Mom. They don't need those stupid vases from 800 flowers anyway.

1800 flowers will usually use a local florist so sometimes it is easier (and cheaper) to cut out the middle man

1800 has given really poor quality the last few times I've seen flowers from them. I'd use a local florist.

Florist for sure...you can even negotiate with them. Say you want to only spend $25 they will make an arrangement within your price range as with 1-800 you cant and their flowers are always crap!

My husband just ordered me valentines flowers that came a day late from 1-800s. They are beautiful but he spent $$$$ and they came from a local florist.

1800Flowers is the absolute worst. Worst service, worst quality, worst prices. ANYTHING is better!

Agreed- local. I stop on Fridays on my way home from work to get fresh flowers from one near my house and I just tell them that I want to spend like $20 and they make it for me and I can even stand there and tell them what I like. In most cases I get nicer/bigger arrangements from them for cheaper than you would even pay at a grocery store.
