DH just got a call... what would you think of this?

I posted last week about DH's 2 job offers and he ultimately picked Job A. He told Job B (who really wanted him) and after a few more offers from them, they finally took no for an answer and said to contact them if it doesn't work out.

He just got a call from the owner of Job B to ask DH how his first week of his new job was. DH isn't starting until Monday, so he told him that and he told DH again to call if it doesn't work out.

What would you think? Flattering? Weird? I have a feeling he'll call again next week to see how his first week was... he's probably hoping he hates it and will come work for them instead.

They sound VERY desperate.. not that that's a bad thing but your DH should feel good that they want him so bad!

Sounds flattering but very aggressive. I'm thinking if you work for that guy, that could be problematic if you had a difference of opinion & hope your DH can be just as strong. He'd need it.

I guess I'd be flattered, but also really weirded out.

i'd be flattered, but it might also make me wonder about working with a company that does that.

In a sense I agree and I often fear that employers who seem desperate may be looking for someone who is willing to either do something unethical or take the fall for something that is not good. However, for a recent job posting, I received so many resumes from people whose writing was careless and whose writing had misspellings that should have come up in a simple spell check. I pursued the candidates whose qualifications stood out and whose applications were in order. This may mean that your husband was by far the best qualified for the position.

I wouldn't read too much into it. Chances are he was just the most qualified for the position and they would love to have him. And think of it this way, it's great for DH to have this job on "back up." What if he did actaully hate this new job? He has a security net just waiting for him.

I would be flattered but seems kind of annoying too.
