Australian Cattle Dog?
Does anyone have one of these?? My little guy is almost 3 years old and has yet to stop "herding" me! I know that it's his "job" and it's an instinctual behavior, but it hasn't decreased in frequency at ALL since we got him, and it worries me how he'll be when we have kids. He does it when I walk down the stairs, if I quickly get up to answer the phone, when I'm getting out of bed, and occasionally when I walk over to sit on the couch. He only does it to me, not DH. I always tell him to stop, and sometimes I hit him on the nose, but it's not working. Any ideas??

Re: Australian Cattle Dog?
My parents had a Border Collie...she was herding til she passed at 14...but she never did it to people..only when playing ball...she would creep and stare for 30 minutes straight if you didn't throw the ball...best thing for them is ALOT of exercise and mental stimulation...my brother would play games with her like hiding a ball under stuff that she had to find...good luck!

I'm trying hard to picture what you mean by herding. Can you explain? This sounds so funny.... like, does the dog try to get you to only go one way or something?

Basically, he stares at my feet - so I know that he's about to do it- and then he'll gently nip at my heel. He never actually hurts me, but it's just so annoying!!! I'm not sure where he's trying to get me to go, especially on the stairs, since I'm obviously going down, but it's almost like any time he sees me moving quickly, that's when he does it. Everyone who I tell about it thinks it's funny!
