It's been a while but I could use an opinion
So my struggles continue...almost 3years now. My RE refuses to try and use medications during my cycles ( only done natural IUIs). He is convinced that due to my condition nothing will work. Yet i have had 2 PAs in his office express their confusion as to why he won't try anything, even for a cycle. Am I wrong for wanting to get another RE's opinion on this before proceeding with a donor? This is technically my 2nd RE already.
On a side note I am mid-2ww(7dpo) after IUIs last week. I am exhausted, cranky, and have an annoying head cold. Maybe this is not helping my current outlook!
ETA: I have only had a natural cycle, 3 failed IUIs and 2 anovulatory cycles in the time frame (as a result of my condition, I dont have anything close to regular cycles).

i definitely think you should see another RE for an opinion. if you aren't happy with the protocols your doctor is using I would see what another Re says.

I don't know the specifics of your situation, but I feel like if you're unsure about your doctor's choices for your treatment, it is ALWAYS worth seeking another opinion! Best of luck to you.

Go find another RE.
He doesnt technically know if something will or wont work unless he tries.
And if hes not willing to try and do some trial and error (sorta speak)........I would be finding another RE ASAP!

You need a new doctor. He is wasting your time.
Get another opinion asap!
Oh, and feel better. I had a nasty sinus thing during my last 2ww and it really weighed heavily on me.

Re: It's been a while but I could use an opinion
I agree. I saw my first RE when I initially became aware of my unexplained infertility(premature ovarian failure with an extremely high FSH and low E2). At the time I wasnt cycling at all. I was getting annoyed by the office staff, not the md, so I got a 2nd opinion from my current RE and stayed with him. When I started spontaneously cycling 17 months later, we agreed that we would try IUIs after a failed natural cycle, to aid as best as possible. I have used Ovidrel triggers on some cycles and Progesterone during my 2ww, but never anything to stimulate. The PAs always ask and they dont understand why.
I made an appt with my original RE (since he already is knows my scenario) to see if he would approach things different, since he wasnt given the opportunity the first time. If he does, I will probably try a few cycles (if I physically can) with him. If not, I will just move on to the donor. This is just so frustrating! I feel like sometimes the REs forget about the emotional component.
First things first though, I have to see what the results of this cycle are. Thank you for your opinions. Sometimes I think I overanalyze and need to make sure I am making grounded decisions.

I couldn't agree more. You NEED a second opinion.

Re: It's been a while but I could use an opinion
I'd definitinately get a 2nd opinion. I don't understand why they wouldn't at least try meds (especially with anovulatory cycles). REs are usually very proactive with trying new things.

I'd get a second opinion, can't hurt! And, if they say the same thing your current RE does, then you'll have that peace of mind.
Good Luck!!
