I HAVE to share this funny moment from today...
I teach 3rd grade in NC. In science, we are currently doing a unit on the human body.
About a week ago, I showed the class a human skeleton, and they wanted to know what the pointy bone was at the bottom of the spine. I explained that this was the tailbone, and that some scientists believe that thousands of years ago, humans used to have tails.
Fast forward to today...the class is sitting on the carpet and we are making an anchor chart about muscles. One of my boys raises his hand and says, "Mrs. Rivera, you know how you were telling us about our tailbone the other day? Well, I didn't believe you, so I decided to try and find it". This is where I had a huge lapse in judgment and promptly asked, "Yeah? How did you do that?" to which he replies...
....wait for it......
"I stuck my finger up my butt and tried to feel around for it".

I actually sat there with my mouth hanging open for a few seconds, then I buried my face in my hands while shaking my head.
Then I got up from my chair, walked to the classroom door, said "GOODBYE!" and walked into the hall and pretended to leave.
It made for an interesting afternoon, that's for sure
