Mortgage Company Vent - and question

I have a mortgage with BOA
Everything is paperless so I make all my payments online

Last month I got a notification that my payment was going up 500 bucks - they had the tax info wrong I had to contact them and straighten out and was told starting with my March statement payment would go up $169 okay fine.

So I logged in February, set up my payment (which the only option was for the previous amount) ok so I paid it since I was going on vacation

So they took that payment from my account on 2/24 and I log in today and it says my payment due 3/1 is 11 days late and that I owe the full amount by 3/16 or I get charged a late fee. If anything I should owe the difference not an entire other payment plus a late fee.

So they took my money but didn't apply it to anything. I know its probably a computer glitch since they switched the payment amount and it hadn't caught up yet but I had to vent because I am PISSSED - they have been a nightmare to deal with from the beginning.

If I were to refinance say in a few more months or a year can I go to a different company? I just can't stand dealing with this bank

Do yourself a favor and just call them up to get it straightened out. I don't have BOA but I just had a prob with my mortgage payment not going to principal and I called them up right away and it was corrected on the spot. And ps: it's only considered late after the 3/16 date when you pay a late fee. I never pay by the 1st of the month and it's never been an issue so don't let that worry you!

I hav no idea about the switching your loan over to another bank though.

My sister had the same exact problem with BOA last month. They told her they were starting foreclosure proceedings if she didn't pay 2 months immediately. She had just paid and should have been up to date until the next payment due date. She called and it was just a computer error. They fixed the issue and said it may take a couple days to update. If you call them they should straighten everything out.

We also have BOA for our mortgage. Last year something similar happened to us where they had our village tax much more than the actual amount. When I called, they adjusted it immediately. Any other time I've had to call them they've been very helpful. Just give them a call and they will fix it for you. There wouldn't be a late fee until the 16th of the month anyway, but since it seems like they screwed up, they will take that off.
