NEED SO HELP

Just trying to see if anyone has had some of the same problems.. My son is almost 6 months and he was born with a flap that wasn't fully developed so he breaths loud and heavy :( He also has acid reflux and at 2 months had gotton rsv and was in icu for 4 days. THis poor guy has been though so much and I feel like we still don't have answers. He is on an inhaler now and prevcid for the breathing and the asthma they THINK he has. the inhaler does make he sound better but still at night its pretty bad. I video him breathing at night and docs cant believe what they are hearing. Now they are talking about putting him to sleep and putting cameras down his throat to see if they see anything that could be causing this. I have seen so many docs and feel like no one has the answers for me . Just trying to see if anyone has had this or know of a good or excellent doc thank you

Re: NEED SO HELP

I have a similar but different story and a Great GI Dr recommendation.
1st off my oldest daughter had bad reflux as a baby and never slept EVER! Projective vomitted etc. Anyway, we got through the 1st miserable year. They took her off meds and we moved on(or so I thought) Over the next 8 yrs, it was a roller coaster. She had brochitis all the time, pnuemonia NINE times, croup more times then I can count, they said she had asthma, RAD, you name it. However, none of the meds worked. She was on an inhaler, the nebulizer with 3 different meds, oral meds. We went from Dr to Dr until we med Dr Stanley Goldstein(an allergist) he finally sent us down the right path. he send us to the ENT who put a scope up her nose and down her throat(while she was awakeChat Icon ) He asked what meds she was on for her severe reflux and I said, HUH? I had no clue she still had reflux, she was 9 yrs old. So we went to Dr Gold(GI Dr in West Islip) who I really really liked. After some investigating, he put her on some heavy duty reflux meds and Jordan is a brand new kid. She has not wheezed, coughed, and any respritory infections or issues AT ALL in a year. I can not believe the difference. I actually did not even believe initially that reflux caused ALL her problems. But they were right and I was wrongChat Icon She has GERD but it is managable.
If there was a way that I could have found this our when she was younger and saved her all the sickness and suffering, I would have. I know a camera down the throat sounds scary on your tiny little baby, but it may be what is best for a proper diagnoses. Good Luck to you and if Dr Gold is not too far, I highly recommend him.
