do CPAs and the like work on weekends this time of year?
I gotta get on this... I'm going to call up KittytheStray, but I was wondering if anyone knows if tax people work non-stop this time of year

If they work in tax preparation then yes, they typically work 6 days a week/10+ hours a day during tax season!

Yes. We met our CPA on a Sunday evening! My parents went to theirs on a Saturday.

she works 6am-11pm

As my DH is at the kitchen table working right now He doesn't do taxes but audits. He is crazy busy and working close to 80 hours a week.

I think most of the good ones do .. I just met with mine today and it went great . I thought I was going to be so much worse off but he helped me so so much ..

My sisters boyfriend works for a big accounting firm and he hasn't been at any family parties! 
He actually stays in a hotel near his office because his hours are so crazy

Mine actually planned the conception of his 2 children so that they were born in the late summer... far,far from tax season.
He's working 24/7.

Dh's bet friend is a CPA and yes they work non stop his time of year. Never able to go away on he weekends. Way too busy

It's a busy time for most people in the financial sector because not only are individual's tax returns due in April, Corporations are due in March, Partnerships in April, and many companies who need year-end financal statements are also due this time of year!

i worked for an accountant in manhattan while in college..and tax season..most times they were there on saturdays. sometimes both weekend days. Especially in april. I would work most saturdays.
