Trains..
Trains Trains!!! My 4 year old has been obsessed probably since the day he started talking.. it's so funny bc he picked up the hobby on his own, from Thomas to full gauge Lionel track systems. When I take him out to parties, he just randomly starts talking to kids and adults about tracks, different train parts and systems and I feel so bad bc I have no friends or fam who have a kid who's as obsessed as my son. Does anyone know of any play dates or groups centered around trains? Anyone with a child that loves the same hobby? I'm desperate to find mini train enthusiasts!!

Re: Trains..
My dad has the whole model train set up in the basement. DSs beg to go down to watch. My dad takes them to model train shows around LI and there are always young kids there. I'll have to find out how he knows where the shows are.

Re: Trains..
I so wish you lived by me!!
I have the same exact 4 year old. I have no idea why trains...but we live, breathe trains...
I actually had a playdate I made on Wed...to our town park then walk over to our train bridge for the 5:15-5:45 ish train to come. None of his friends wanted to leave the park. I sat with him on bridge for 25 minutes...the whole time he was in shock that his friends will miss this. Train comes, goes. He goes back to the park still in shock that they weren't interested. We are there 4 times a week...it never gets old to him.
Then I have another playdate planned for tuesday. light rail to the library. so far no one has rsvp'ed... last week i went solo as well. we need train friends!! the thrill he gets when we are on the train and the sticks go down for cars to stop...forget it.
moving down to NC soon??
