You can buy a WW cookbook and get ideas from there maybe.

Re: How can WW without joining?

There's no way to know how many points you get without joining- the computer automatically calcuates how many points you get each week you weigh in. That number can go up or down based on gaining or losing.

Maybe try doing it online? It's cheaper and you can still have access to all the information.

I though there was a way to calculate it based on your weight.

On the old plan there was. You could always look up info on that and try to follow it.

You can buy the materials at a center. There's a kit that includes the complete food companion with all the foods and their points, a dining out food guide with foods and points values for popular restaurants, a cookbook, and a points calculator. You would use the points calculator to figure out how many daily points you're allowed. It also calculates the points plus values of foods when you put in the nutritional facts.

I do think you need to be a member to buy that kit at the center though, so you'd have to pay the one-time registration fee the day you went to buy it. The kit in the store is around $40 and I think the registration fee is usually around $30.... so it would end up costing you about $70. You wouldn't have to pay for anything else if you didn't go to weekly meetings.

You can also order the same Weight watchers At Home Standard Kit online for $99.99 without having to join... but you'd save around $30 if you did it the other way.

Check out Spark People . It's free. the site calculates how many calories instead of points you should have a day. On the food log you enter what you eat and it tracks your intake. The site will also make a daily menu and shopping list for you based on which foods you eat.
