Should I wait to apply for this position until I hear back?

Should I wait to apply for this position until I hear back?
2 weeks ago I interviewed for this position at this company, and now another position at the same company came up that I could apply to. Should I wait until I hear back about the first position? My worry is that if it is the same HR person it bad if I'm applying to positions before they made a decision about the other job.
What do you think?

Apply. Usually we get the same people applying for as many as 10 jobs within my organization--once they decide that they want to work here, they will apply for any job that kind of fits.
It won't hurt your chances.
