Sensory Balancing pods. What do you think?

I'm thing about getting my ds a balancing pod. ( half a pogo ball)Here are the 2 that I'm thinking about Big ball

Small ball

I am concerned that he may get hurt on the bigger one. He has been standing on his toys a lot lately. I was told that he doesn't feel grounded and needs the sensory input. Does any one have anything like this? Or have any different ideas? He is 6 years old. I wondering if the arm bands are to advanced? He has very low mussel tone.

TIA

What about those:

From Beyong Play:

This one you have to keep moving your feet as they "sink" into the foam.

I am sure you could make a "game" out of that one.

Those are for sensory but DS' PT used to have some with no texture.

From lakeshore learning materials:

We have those one for DS. He loves it. It's modular. You can use only 1 link or put in a straight line.

i was thinking of getting the foam one too. would u leave it out all the time or just take it out for activities?
i wish the balance beams weren't so expensive. we make our own out of blocks and stuff.

Re: Sensory Balancing pods. What do you think?

I ended up getting the balancing pods the small ones. They have them at target, so I thought I would start there. They worked great. he loves to stand on them. We played a form of twister/Simon says. It seems to be just the sensory input he needed. He didn't stand on any of his toys for the rest of the weekend! Thank you for your advice!
