Heart Murmors
I went to the doctor and he had informed me that I had a heart murmor. They rate the murmor from 1 to 6, 6 being the worst. Well I'm at a 4, but I have never had a history of heart problems ever. Can some give me the 411 on this if it has happened to you or someone you know. Thanks!!

hi my brother, dh, and Brother in law all have heart murmurs. they arent life threatening you can live with it all your life and never know.

I have one too. I just found out - mitral valve prolapse. I have no idea what my number is but just wanted to say I've delivered 2 children with out any heart issues.

I have a heart murmur also. Does not effect my life in anyway whatsoever. The only weird thing is if I am working out and have to take a pulse, I occasionally notice a skipped beat.

I was just diagnosed with one yesterday. The dr. said it's very common during pregnancy. I'm having an EKG, Echo and wearing a heart monitor for 20 hours to be sure its nothing more than a murmur.

MVP(mitrovalve porlapse is different then a murmur I have that as well

MVP(mitrovalve porlapse is different then a murmur I have that as well
Same thing here, I found out when I was in my early 20's that I had MVP.

I have a murmur and I have a rare congenital heart defect called L-transposition of the great vessels, basically my tricuspid valve leaks. I had a very healthy pregnancy and a great delivery via c-section.
The ONLY reason I had a c-section was that my DD's umbilical cord was wrapped around her shoulders and she could not descend past my pelvis. Otherwise, I would have had a vaginal delivery with my doctors blessing.

my doctor said that it is very common during pregnancy. i had one prepregnancy so I am just hoping that it doesnt get worse

 Thanks!!! This helps me out. This is my first pregnancy and the worst was racing through my head. I didnt know it was common for pregnant women to get diagnosed with murmurs.
