Has anyone read "The Red Tent
someone at worked rec'd it and its got good reviews on goodreads and amazon, so I just downloaded it. I was just curious if anyone here has read it?

Loved that book! But I'm a huge fan of historical fiction so I think you do have to like that genre.

Im about a 1/4 of the way through, its OK. I really had a hard time in the beginning keeping everyone straight. I think they introduced too many characters all at once, there were sometimes 6 characters intro'd on one page. I found that really annoying.

I read it a long time ago. It is so interesting to read books like that from a woman's perspective. One thing I found so helpful in the paper version is they had a family tree in the beginning of the book that i referred to often. As an AP said, she introduces so many characters at once it is sometimes hard to keep track. Otherwise, I remember loving it!

I loved it. It was a little difficult to keep up with how many characters there are within the book -- especially because they're all less familiar biblical names.
But it's a great story. I think all women should read it.
Also, I frequently say that I wish the current world had a red tent.
I want to go hang out in a comfy tent while I have my period and not have the men-types bother me.

OK, Im abotu halfway through and Im seriously losing the will to finish it. I feel like its SOOOOO wordy and drawn out, like its going nowhere very slowly.
