Breast feeding during the summer
Since DS was born in the winter I used anything I could grab to cover myself. With DS#2 arriving in July, I was thinking what can I use to cover myself with especially while I am in the backyard with the baby? I have a nursing cover of cotton material but it's black and white. I'm thinking maybe I should get another one of a lighter color to help with the sun and heat.
What did you use to cover yourself when breastfeeding during the summer while outside?

If it was really warm, I used the Aden and Anais swaddle blankets. They were perfect because they're so lightweight and they're huge so they covered everything. I would just take 2 corners and tie them together and then slip it over my head.

Re: Breast feeding during the summer
I didn't use the specific ones suggested by the PP, but I used very lightweight receiving blankets to cover up with. I just tucked a corner into my bra/tank strap and draped the rest over DC.

I had a black cover too and I breastfed outside in the summer no problem but ditto the muslin swaddling blankets...they are perfect for summer babies!

Re: Breast feeding during the summer
I have swaddle blankets and a ton of receiving blankets but they are for a winter baby. So there is Aiden and Anais , and Muslin swaddling blankets that are thinner then the flannel ones?

Sorry, Aiden & Anais = muslin swaddling blankets. They are very thin, lightweight, breathable and soft. They wash nicely too. Great as a light blanket or to keep the baby in the shade...can't say enough about how wonderful they are.

Re: Breast feeding during the summer
I used the Aden and Anais swaddle blanket during the summer esp at the beach they are the BEST! They are large and airy (no overheating for you or baby!) Thank you for reminding me, I'm due in July too and I really should pick up another one.

Had a summer baby. i used the bebe au lait one (spelling?). It was great and had a little thing in it that kept it airy at the top.

Re: Breast feeding during the summer
I always wear a nursing tank top under a regular top and did a one up, one down thing. Always worked for me.

I did this too with Xavier. It definitely won't work for me this time around. I am not a fan of the heat and layers make me sweat.
