Sushi tonight, what to get?

We are going out for sushi tonight, and I was thinking of getting a rainbow roll and a spicy tuna roll.

1. How many calories do you think these 2 rolls are?

2. If my total goal is 1500 calories a day, do you think this is too much for dinner?

I've already calculated the calories but I'd like confirmation.

Thanks!

The spicy mayonaisse has a lot of calories, and it's hard to know how much they put in. If you know you portioned the calories for it then go for it! And if you haven't, I say go for it anyway, it won't make or break you.

I don't think it's too much at all.

Re: Sushi tonight, what to get?

My estimate was 300 for the spicy tuna and 500 for the rainbow roll. That is 800 for dinner. I don't know if that is too much. I will probably be eating not too late in the evening though.

ETA: I can definitely make it so I have 1500 calories total. I've had 345 between breakfast and my post run snack. That leaves 355 for lunch, which is fine since I'm going to have a spinach salad and a slice of bread.

Whatever you get ask for brown rice instead of the white. Enjoy!

If you have the calories go for it. If you want to be able to eat a little more you could swap out one of the rolls for sashimi. I looked up the spicy tuna roll on a few different sites and the calories varied from 290-461 depending on preparation and the amount of spicy mayo used...just some thing to keep in mind.

I was thinking to be on the safe side i would get a rainbow roll and a california roll to avoid the spicy mayo.

You could go just a plain tuna roll and skip the "spicy" part or sashimi which was already suggested. What about one roll, sashimi, miso soup and side salad or seaweed salad? I know you didn't ask for other suggestions but I can't help in trying to help.Chat Icon

Thanks! I'm really in a roll kind of mood, and I definitely want a rainbow roll. Just have to decide what the other will be. Maybe plain tuna like you suggested. I love tuna.
