Dog Boarding - best place?
Hi everyone! Just wondering if anyone knows a good place for boarding dogs. I have a 7month old pup and just want to know where people board their dogs.
I've looked at Best in Show Pet Resort in Mineola but feel like the dogs may not have enough 'out of the cage' time?
Also I've checked out the Barrie Inn, next to Fido Fitness in Woodmere -- my concern there is regarding their cageless boarding -- what if a fight breaks out overnight or something? How well supervised is it?
Any insight would be great, either on these two places or on a new place. I'm a new dog owner so I may be worrying for nothing, but please let me know what you think!
THANKS SO MUCH!!!
(sorry if this is posted twice, I'm new here!)

Re: Dog Boarding - best place?
we boarded at our old vet in levittown and they totally didn't care for max, we were so mad. We use were going to use our new vet the next time we needed because they keep the dogs out playing all day and not in crates alone... but we haven't needed them yet.
they r in hauppauge, if thats a good area i can give u their information

Re: Dog Boarding - best place?
We just started using Towne Line Vet in Hauppauge. As vets, they are so great that we started using them for boarding. My dog runs inside to go to the vet and to go for boarding! He used to be horrible at the vet!!!!
Just to add - they have private areas for the dogs and also a playroom. He loves it and comes home exhausted!

Townline is big around here, we have a lot of LIF'ers who go to Dr. Gurtman. My dogs really like going there too although we've never boarded there. With the patience and kindness of their entire staff, I have to assume a boarding experience would be very good.
Their playroom is smallish and I don't know if dogs are supervised at all times; you might want to ask that. The usually have dogs behind the counter hanging out with the staff so if there are dogs that need to be kept away from others, there's more options.

We use K9 Clubhouse in Lindenhurst (moving to West Babylon soon) and LOVE them! They only board about 10 dogs at a time and pay extra special attention to each and every dog!

Re: Dog Boarding - best place?
We like Hounds Town, in Ronkonkoma (they have a location in Port Jeff. too). Each dog has it's own area to eat and sleep in, but during the day they get to run and play together in supervised areas, both inside and outside. We always get a good vibe from the people who work there, as if they really love playing with and taking care of the dogs. And we like how our dog doesn't get stuck in a small enclosed space for a whole week when we go away.
