What was that?
I ran last night... hard. I've been having an awful, stressful week, and took it out on the treadmill, and ran my furthest, and fastest, about 5 miles in about an hour. I ate dinner about an hour before my run, so my tummy started grumbling towards the end.
But when I came home, I literally collapsed. I started shivering uncontrollably and felt like I was either going to throw up or pass out. I laid in bed sipping juice, shivering, for 20 minutes before I fell asleep. Was very restless last night, tossing and turning, and woke up several times in a cold sweat. Woke up today feeling like I was hit by a train.
I downed two large glasses of juice when I came home - I wonder if I was somehow dehydrated? If not, what could it be?? Has anyone experienced this after a hard workout?

Re: What was that?
Let me start off by saying the only running I do right now is to and from the car. With that said, did you get only maybe a few hours of sleep or not a peaceful sleep. I only ask because I have felt like that lately when I would push my self and my body wasn't ready ( I am 3 weeks PP) and that night into the following day I would sore all over , cold sweats and a low grade fever.
It sounds like you pushed your body to the limit and it may have been to much at this point.

Re: What was that?
I didn't get a lot of rest earlier in the week, maybe 3-4 hours a night at most, but I felt fine yesterday to run. I think maybe I did run it a little too hard; should have listened to my body when I neared mile 4 and felt like I might throw up on the treadmill
Lesson learned...

Did you eat enough yesterday? Maybe you just have a bit of a bug? There is something going around up here. Or as the pp said, you might have just pushed yourself.

I didn't eat lunch yesterday, but I snacked a LOT and had a pretty big dinner last night. I don't think it's a bug, I don't feel "sick" today, just rundown. Who knows... maybe it's totally unrelated to my run, though, now, my DH is using it as an excuse to reprimand me for running too hard, and keeps telling me I'm crazy for running

Re: What was that?
You probably ate too little and pushed too hard. I puke after intense workouts without enough food.
Hope you feel beter!

It sounds like you were sleep deprived and pushed you body a bit harder than it was prepared to handle.

Re: What was that?
I've had similiar symptons (although not quite to that degree)- it seemed to be after an intense workout. It helps me to drink gatorade.
