School District Zoning
Is there somewhere you can look online that tells you what schools in a district you would be zoned for? (I already know the district, just curious which of several schools future kids would be sent to)

Re: School District Zoning
There's nothing that I know of to show which blocks are zoned for which elementary school within a particular school district, for example. I have a map of North Bellmore, where I live and where my office is, so I know which blocks are zoned for which schools. It's very difficult to get the school districts to give this info out, I think because it is subject to change and some districts re-draw the lines often. For that same reason, they don't publish it on the SD websites.
The best thing to do, if you are interested in a house, is to call the SD. The transportation department (that handles busing) is usually very helpful on this.
Don't make assumptions, because school zoning lines sometimes cut through the same block or are drawn in a way that is not intuitive or expected. The geographically closest school may not be the one your kids will attend.

Re: School District Zoning
The schools are based on the child population, so if a couple of blocks all have kids the same age, it might put too many kids in one school, and not enough in another, so they will need to redraw the school maps. They really won't know for sure until after Kindergarten registration, which is this time frame.

Re: School District Zoning
You can always call the district's transportation office and ask. Many say it's easier then trying to look it up online. HTH!
