Birthday party or Baseball game?
My older son was invited to a Birthday party at the same time of his Baseball game. It's at a place called Frankie's which is a video game, go cart, laser tag place. The problem is that my DH is working and I would have to take all 3 kids there by myself. I have to worry about nursing the baby and the cost for my younger son. It's not cheap for him to do things there. I feel really bad if we don't go, but it's 2 hours long and 20 min. drive both ways. I would say to miss baseball but since 3 practices were already cancelled due to the weather and my DH is working, and the cost it's going to be tough for me. WDYT?

I'd try to arrange for your older DS to get a ride with someone else going (my DD is doing that today for a birthday party) or I'd go to the game if that wasn't possible. I wouldn't put myself that far out or stretch my budget beyond my comfort level for a party.

When my kids sign up for a team sport, that trumps other events - unless it's a major event. I would go to the baseball team. I wanted them to get the idea of the whole team/commitment thing.
Now, we don't do team sports

If you can't afford it, then don't do it. What is to feel badly about? You have a prior commitment anyway with baseball practice. Not a big deal IMHO.
