Star Wars
How old was your dc when you first let them watch Star Wars? The original 3 movies are rated PG, and then of the newer ones Episodes I & II are PG, III is PG-13.
DS is almost 5 and REALLY wants to watch the first one, which I think is ok. DH thinks he's too young, although he will play with Star Wars toys (including lightsaber duels) with DS.

Re: Star Wars
DS saw the original 3 movies when he was around 5. He saw the first 2 of the newer ones when he was 7. We didn't let him see the last one until last year when he was 9. I felt like it was a much more adult theme.
Of course you may not want to go by us... We are very strict with what we let the kids watch!!!

Re: Star Wars
I have been trying to get my 6 year old to watch it - he is not interested. My 4 year old loves it.
It was the first movie I saw in the movie theater! I was almost 4

Re: Star Wars
My oldest son was in PreK (so 4.5 or 5)We tried to hold off (he is subject to having nightmares) but all his friends loved it so we started with the earliest ones. He had nightmares at first about Darth Vadar but then loved it after and at 6 is still obsessed - memorizes details and pretty much the only toys he plays with now.
My little one has been watching since he was 3 and never been afraid or anything - he loves it. We didn't plan to have him watch so young but it was too hard to avoid. He is a different personality so he handles it. The hardest thing though is stopping him from saying things a 3 yr old shouldn't - like killing and everything is about making stuff dead. But he doesn't do it at school - only at home so I am kind of lucky.
I don't think either have seen any of the newer ones - mostly the older ones and all of the Clone Wars TV show.
